Passive Fire Protection

TENMAT SHORT-LISTED FOR COMMERCIAL/INDUSTRIAL PRODUCT OF THE YEAR AWARD
TENMAT make the short-list for yet another industry award, this time for the Heating & Ventilating Review (HVR) Awards 2012 in the category of 'Commercial / Industrial Product of the Year'.

The judges deliberated over a record number of entries and selected the finalists for the prestigious HVR Awards ceremony next month. The judges were looking for innovation, outstanding technological achievements and service capabilities. The awards will once again provide the industry with an event with which the technology, innovations and successes of the past twelve months can be acknowledged and celebrated.

TENMAT have entered the Firefly 109 Vent Duct Fire Sleeve product range for the award. The Fire Sleeves are designed to suit both rectangular and circular ventilation ducting of all common sizes. In the event of a fire the FF109 Vent Duct Fire Sleeve reacts with the heat and expands, crushing the ventilation ducting and sealing off the void ensuring that there is no risk of the fire spreading.

Recent changes to test parameters in 2011 due to investigation into the fire stopping of ventilation ducting have enabled TENMAT to prove their superiority in the market by achieving the more onerous EN test standards on the FF109 Vent Duct Fire Sleeves. It is this superiority that has resulted in TENMAT winning the contracts for major projects such as The London 2012 Olympic Village.
London 2012 Olympic Village
TENMAT's Vent Duct Fire Sleeve product range is the only one fully tested to the latest and most onerous EN 1366-3 open / open standard. This means that it can be used in all ventilation applications (within the limitations of the test data) whereas, generally other products are tested to the much less onerous BS 476 capped / capped standard which is not designed for ventilation applications. It is the only range currently available which meets the full and correct test criteria for PVC ventilation ductwork. This ensures that the fire stopping is readily signed off by Building control and gives peace of mind to the buildings owners and occupants.
